Research Description
Symptom management, with a special focus on pain, fatigue, and sleep disturbances in women with rheumatoid arthritis. Also use of complementary and alternative therapies, particularly relaxation and imagery, to manage these symptoms. I am currently investigating whether the symptoms of pain, fatigue, and sleep disturbances change over the menstrual cycle in premenopausal women with rheumatoid arthritis. A future study will investigate the effectiveness of a cognitive-behavioral intervention, with relaxation and imagery, in managing the symptoms of pain, fatigue, and sleep disturbances in women with rheumatoid arthritis.
