Faculty Profiles FAQ

Starting August 20^th, 2024, publications updates will no longer be available from the Symplectic Elements database.

Publication lists will have to be manually maintained until a replacement database has been implemented.

You can make changes to your profile at https://apps.med.virginia.edu/ResearchFacultyDirectory/Profile/Edit.

You can manage your faculty members’ profiles at https://apps.med.virginia.edu/ResearchFacultyDirectory/Profile/ManageUsers.aspx

Create your list of publications on the HTML tab.
Select Manual from the Publication Source drop-down on the General / Contact tab.

Note: if you do not see an HTML tab at the top of the page, you may need to hit the CREATE button on the bottom of the page to create your profile first.

Faculty Publications

My newest articles aren’t showing up on my Research Faculty Directory list of publications. How do I add them? I have too many pending publications! Help! I'm a new faculty member. How do I pull all of my publications? I have published publications here at UVA, how do I consolidate my list to only show my current publications? What is Symplectic Elements? Who will have access to my data? Why do I have such a high number of pending publications? What does it mean to impersonate another user? Am I being impersonated? Can I hide certain parts of my profile? My newest articles aren't showing up on my Research Faculty Directory list of publications. How do I add them? Some, or many, of my articles aren't showing up on my list, even after claiming. How do I add them? Why don't preprints appear on my list?
