Research Description
The goal of my research is to understand the mechanistic underpinnings of the cell signaling network that contribute to cancer progression and resistance to therapy. My laboratory is currently focused on 1) identifying signaling pathways that compensate for androgen ablation in prostate cancer, 2) testing the hypothesis that the novel lncRNA we discovered, HULLK, functions as an oncogene in PCa, and 3) we are using an in vitro tumor microenvironment system for solid tumors that utilizes multiple cell types and recapitulates tumor capillary hemodynamics and biological transport to study heterotypic cell signaling.
