Research Description

In 1854 John Snow described the complex relation between Cholera and water pollution, approximately 7 years before germ theory was first described. Snow‰Ûªs observation is often regarded as the founding event in the science of epidemiology, and is an important influence on my research which involves (1) understanding the complex systems in critical care that influence patient outcomes, (2) improving fundamental epidemiology of pulmonary diseases, and (3) describing hospital outbreaks as to improve our fundamental understanding of their epidemiology.
