Hey there, I’m Brayden, and I am a member of the 2026 GSP cohort at UVA SOM. I grew up out west, living between Idaho and Wyoming. I grew up in a rural ski town and I enjoy camping, hiking, skiing, and almost anything outdoors (except snowboarding, of course). I studied undergrad at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming where I worked for 6 years as a care provider for adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). People with IDD have been an integral part of my life and I plan to continue my medical career on a similar path caring for underserved populations. I am really interested in rural medicine and the intersection between disability and health care access in rural spaces.
