I am originally from Belgrade, Montana, a small town close to Yellowstone National Park. I went to undergrad at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia where I studied economics and molecular biology. In terms of medicine and research, I am interested in applications of behavioral economics and behavior change to medicine and health policy.
Growing up in a rural community in Montana and attending college in a large city in Virginia, I have seen two very different communities burdened by poor access to care and social determinants of illness. Also, I have seen the tremendous value of primary care services in these communities, which sparked my interest in general medicine.
Personally, I like to watch and play all kinds of sports or spend time outdoors (hiking, camping, fishing, etc.) and look forward to continuing to do these things in Charlottesville!
