TAC Collaborations
General Informational Guide to TaqMan Array Card Collaborations
The TaqMan Array Card (TAC) is a 384-well customizable real-time PCR format (from Life Technologies/Thermo Fisher) that can simultaneously detect 48 multiple infectious disease targets on 8 specimens. The technology compartmentalizes many assays such that (once developed) it is as easy to perform as a single real-time PCR reaction. We find that this makes TAC well-suited for field use, syndromic surveillance, and clinical research. We have developed custom-made cards for enteropathogens/diarrheal diseases, for pathogens associated with acute febrile illness (with collaborators at CDC), for Mycobacterium tuberculosis drug resistance mutations, for Streptococcus pneumoniae serotyping, Malaria drug resistance, and others which we have used these extensively around the world.
We are committed to sharing this useful technology widely for research purposes. However, running TaqMan Array Cards is also a considerable undertaking. Please review some of our layouts and publications below, and if you are interested further contact us by email. Good luck!
