Research Description
My laboratory currently focuses on understanding how immune responses and environmental exposures in the intestine impact the broader immune system, including the fundamental process of hematopoiesis. Our work explores how alteration of mucosal immunology by changes in the microbiota and infection with pathogens influences the systemic immune response and severity of later mucosal infections and inflammatory disease.
