RESEARCH SUMMARY
We have been conducting outcomes and epidemiologic research in kidney disease. Our primary objective is to help understand the reasons behind the gaps in disease progression and outcomes in CKD/ESKD among racial and ethnic groups through analyses of large electronic health records with more rigorous biostatistical and epidemiologic approaches. Our research has been funded by NIDDK R01DK084200 (Racial disparity in quality of clinical care in end-stage renal disease), NIDDK R01DK112008 (Differential survival selections and care-related determinants among African Americans and Hispanics versus whites with chronic kidney disease), and other federal research funding.
