3 UVA Neurosurgeons Receive Awards

Researchers from the University of Virginia Gamma Knife center have recently received three national awards in the field of stereotactic radiosurgery.  Dr. Sheehan along with Drs. Williams, Starke, and Monteith have received the Integra Award, the Galbraith Award, and the Leksell Award.  The pioneering work including studies on meningiomas and pediatric arteriovenous malformations.  The awards were granted by the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.  The awards reflect the commitment that the University of Virginia’s Department of Neurological Surgery has to advancing the field of stereotactic radiosurgery.
