ASCP CME/SAM for Faculty

Instructions for accessing ASCP CME/SAM courses for maintaining certification

Operating Systems

For PC users: Windows 8, Windows 7 and Windows XP
For Mac users: Mac OS 10.5 or higher
For mobile users: iOS (recommended) and Android

Internet Browsers

Chrome version 33 and higher (recommended), Firefox 3.0 and higher and Safari 2.0 and higher.

  1. Login to the ASCP web site: www.ascp.org
    1. Your personal User ID is your customer number.
You will also be asked for your Password: 
(If you cannot remember your password, please use the link in the Login box “Password Hint” and/or “Forgot your User ID or Password?” A password will then be immediately emailed to you at the email address you have on record at ASCP.)
  2. From the My account page, click the Education icon.
  3. Click My Learning Plan.
  4. The CheckPath module purchased for you by the Department should be listed. If not, contact Barbara Becker, who will contact ASCP to straighten out the issue.

Claiming SAMs

This process is a little clunky. After completing the test, you must go to your transcript area and specifically claim SAM activity, merely passing the exam is not sufficient. You also may have some issues in trying to navigate the ASCP learning website to get to your transcript page. You may find it easier to go back to the ASCP main page (link given above), go to “My account”, then click on the “Education” icon, then click on the “Transcripts” icon. You should see your just completed activity listed, similar to the example below:

You must now click on the “Yes” text in the last column (SAM Credit Eligible) to claim your SAMs. Counterintuitively, this will change to “No”, but this means you have claimed your credits.
