Marina Weiler is a neuroscientist specializing in the field of medical sciences. She holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Neurology at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in Brazil.

During her doctoral studies, Marina focused on utilizing functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to gain insights into the alterations occurring in the brains of individuals affected by Alzheimer’s disease.

Following completing her Ph.D., Marina Weiler joined the National Institutes of Health (NIH/NIA) in 2016. Her primary research at the NIH involved investigating the potential of brain stimulation as a therapeutic approach for mitigating age-related cognitive decline.

Later on, Marina took her expertise to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she was actively involved in a project to identify biomarkers associated with disorders of consciousness subsequent to traumatic brain injuries. To accomplish this, she employed fMRI techniques to explore the intricacies of such conditions.

In recent years, Marina has shifted her focus toward studying human consciousness. Her current endeavors involve investigating fascinating phenomena that imply the mind’s independence from the physical brain, such as mental mediumship and out-of-body experiences.
