Brett Moreau PhD
Childhood malnutrition and diarrheal diseases have profound lifelong effects on growth and neurodevelopment in low-income settings. As a postdoctoral researcher in the Petri lab, my research interests lie in identifying the metabolic pathways associated with impaired
childhood development and determining how these pathways are influenced by factors such as nutritional deficiency, chronic inflammation, or disruption of the host microbiome. My current work focuses on applying statistical techniques to large metabolic and
microbiome data sets from a longitudinal birth cohort in Dhaka, Bangladesh, with the ultimate goal of identifying metabolic signatures that may serve as potential biomarkers or targeted therapeutics to correct developmental deficits.
