Clostridium difficile binary toxin (CDT) is produced by hypervirulent strains of C. difficile. These strains are believed to be contributing to increase of C. difficile infection morbidity and mortality over the past two decades. I am currently looking at the association of CDT in clinical stool samples and disease severity in C. difficile infection. I have also acted as a clinical research coordinator on several studies, helping enroll study subjects, and collect and process patient samples.
