Congratulations to Sarah Gray, Pharmacology PhD candidate in Eugene Barrett‘s lab, and Pharmacology alumnus Jeffrey Sturek (MD class of 2012, PhD class of 2010), who both won awards for their presentations at the 2015 Department of Medicine‘s Carey, Marshall, Thorner Research and Scholars’ Day! Sarah’s oral presentation, “High fat diet impairs receptor-mediated insulin uptake by the brain” earned the best among fellows and grad students, while Jeff received the best oral presentation by a resident for his talk on “The effect of apoptotic cells on alveolar macrophage phenotype.” Be sure to congratulate Sarah and Jeff when you see them!
