Dr. Paul Targonski has accepted the new role of Director of Research for the Division of General, Geriatrics, Palliative Care and Hospital Medicine of the University of Virginia Health System.
“Paul is a widely experienced clinician researcher who joined UVA Public Health Sciences Department with joint appointment in our division from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN,” writes division chief Mohan Nadkarni in making the announcement. “He has been the Primary Investigator on numerous grants including NIH and CMMS grants. He has also served on multiple NIH, CDC, NIOSH, and other study sections as well.
“Additionally, Paul has great experience and success in developing faculty skills in promotion of scholarly activity in the clinical realm, in teaching/education, and in outcomes based research He has developed many different types aids, including online modules, peer writing groups, faculty development curricula to help faculty at any level enhance their skills and confidence in pursuing scholarly activity.
