Dr. Rajesh Balkrishnan, Professor of Public Health Sciences and Director of the Cancer Population Health Core was recently invited by the University of São Paulo Cancer Center, São Paulo, Brazil to deliver one of their grand round seminar talks. The topic of Dr. Balkrishnan’s talk was “Using Cancer Registries to Examine Quality of Pharmaceutical Care” and it was attended by over 50 center members. During his visit, he was hosted by the center director Dr. Roger Chammas and had the opportunity to discuss various research collaborations between the cancer centers at UVA and USP. This represents the second time this year for UVA-USP collaborations with a symposium presented by Dr. Thomas Loughran, UVA Cancer Center Director and Dr. Roger Anderson, UVA Cancer Center Associate Director for Population Sciences at USP earlier this year.
