Harris, Drew A., M.D.

Dr. Harris is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences and the Department of Medicine.  His research focus is in community-based participatory research (CBPR), Dissemination & Implementation science and pulmonary health disparities.  With funding from the Chest Foundation, the American Thoracic Society and a NHLBI/NIH K12 Implementation Science Career Development Award, his current research involves studying the impact of a medical-legal partnership on asthma outcomes in disadvantaged communities in central Virginia. In addition, Dr. Harris is building a UVA-Appalachia Pulmonary Program that focuses on improving the respiratory health of a rural, underserved population in Appalachia through community partnerships, telemedicine and CBPR.
