We welcome Matthew J. Gurka, PhD, back to UVA as he starts his appointment as Chair of the Department of Public Health Sciences on Monday, February 12, 2024!
Matthew J. Gurka, PhD, Chair, Department of Public Health Sciences
Dr. Gurka joins us from the University of Florida where he has served in leadership roles including Vice Chair of Health Outcomes and Translational Research as well as the Director of the Pediatric Research Hub in the Department of Pediatrics. Previously he served as founding Chair of the Department of Biostatistics at West Virginia University’s School of Public Health.
