Melissa Little, PhD, MPH
During spring 2024, Melissa Little, PhD, MPH, Associate Professor in PHS, was recognized as the UVA Uteam Member of the Month.
Gabrielle Laskey, MA, a clinical research coordinator who previously worked with Dr. Little as a research specialist, celebrated Dr. Little with the following nomination:
“Melissa has led us through a major research project opening after a year and a half of planning, the continuation through year three of another research project, working with two military bases with partnered research, and the start of planning on a third major research project looking at Federally Qualified Health Centers. All while she has been managing her own personal challenges and family, hiring new staff, and applying for tenure. I think with all of this going on, it would be very easy for someone to take shortcuts or not maintain high expectations of quality of work. However, Melissa has led our team through it by example!“
