On Friday, August 23, the Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging recognized the 2024 graduates of the Charles J. Tegtmeyer Program of Interventional Radiology for technologists. The ceremony was held in the University of Virginia’s Pinn Hall, and celebrated six graduating technologists: Chelsey Badiuk, Hunter Fitzgerald, Alexandra Jimenez, Mary Marr, Ashleigh Sneed, and Jessica Triggs.

This year’s graduation featured remarks from Daniel Sheeran, MD, an associate professor in the Interventional Radiology division who also serves as the program’s medical director. Chandler Fountain, MD, assistant professor in the Interventional Radiology division, was the event’s keynote speaker and reflected on the year’s highlights.
During the ceremony, graduate Chelsey Badiuk received also received recognition for outstanding academic and clinical work with the Helen Baughman Award and the Charles J. Tegtmeyer, MD Award.
While their training is over, it’s not a total goodbye: Hunter Fitzgerald is continuing his career at the University of Virginia’s Division of Interventional Radiology. Meanwhile, others have found positions across the country, from Richmond to Alaska.
