ACR Imaging 3.0 Case Study on UVA Interventional Radiology

The American College of Radiology (ACR) published an Imaging 3.0 case study on March 7th featuring UVA Radiology Department Chair Alan H. Matsumoto, MD, and Interventional Radiology (IR) Division Director John Fritz Angle, MD. The article focuses on the work Drs. Dr. Julie Matsumoto Receives Women in Medicine Leadership Award

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Julie Matsumoto has received the 2016 Sharon L. Hostler Women in Medicine Leadership Award for her contributions and leadership at the UVA School of Medicine. Dr. Matsumoto embodies many attributes the Sharon L. Hostler Award is designed to recognize. A faculty member of our Neuroradiology Division since 1991, she has long been an outstanding teacher during didactic resident and fellow lectures and in one-on-one discussions at the view box. James Stone, MD, Receives Grants from U.S. Navy

Dr. James Stone, our newly appointed Vice Chair of Research, recently received a grant award from the Navy Advanced Medical Development Fund in the amount of $527,244 for a research study on “Endovascular placement of aortic occlusion balloon utilizing active non-fluoroscopic guidance." The Advanced Medical Development Program Office supports the business and scientific research of advanced medical devices.
