I’m Michaela, a general surgery resident originally from Maryland. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Nebraska (Go Big Red) where I studied biological sciences and mathematics. I then spent the next four years here at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, where I fell in love with the field of general surgery, and this program in particular. UVA General Surgery has felt like home to me since very early in my clinical experience, and I hope you feel the same.
