Kent-Guo Lab
About Dr. Kent's Research
Dr. Kent’s research efforts have been focused on the (1) basic, (2) translational, and (3) clinical outcome studies of peripheral arterial diseases (PADs).
He has led a multidisciplinary group that has been investigating novel molecular mechanisms underlying the pathophysiologies of smooth muscle and endothelial cells in PAD models such as restenosis and abdominal aortic aneurysm, and also developing innovative nanoplatforms for targeted drug delivery. Additionally, his clinical research team has been committed to studying surgical outcomes as well as improving patient satisfaction and well-being, which has tremendously helped shape the current guidelines of PAD management. We tackle vascular diseases via mechanistic investigation followed by translational studies.
About Dr. Guo's Research
The Guo lab research focuses on targeting epigenetic mechanisms to counter aberrant cell behaviors in pathological processes. Together with collaborators, we are also pursuing innovative ways to deliver therapeutic agents in preclinical models to treat vascular diseases ranging from stenosis to aneurysm. Main research topics: Epigenetic readers, cell state transitions, neointimal hyperplasia, retinal degeneration and protection, sigma receptors, precision delivery with nanoplatforms.
