Liquid Biopsy and Extracellular Vesicles

Extracellular vesicles (EV) orchestrate a variety of pathophysiological processes and have a critical role in the evolution of primary and disseminated tumors. EVs are now known to be potently modulated by oncolytic focal therapies, such as focused ultrasound. EVs play an important role in immunomodulation and have an established foothold in the liquid biopsy domain, which is drawing considerable interest as a non-invasive approach for the diagnosis and monitoring of cancer.
