Lorrie Rilko, DNP, CDCES

Lorrie Rilko, DNP, CDCES, is the Diabetes Education and Outreach Manager for the Virginia Center for Diabetes Prevention and Education. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from George Mason University and worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner in primary care for over thirty years. In 2017, she obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), with a concentration in education, from George Washington University (GWU). Lorrie also holds a Nurse Educator (CNE) certification from the National League of Nursing. She has been an Assistant Professor for the Family Nurse Practitioner program at GWU and is currently a Visiting Professor at the Chamberlain University School of Nursing. Lorrie is board certified in Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM), is a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), and is a lifestyle coach for the National Diabetes Prevention Program.
