Lifestyle Coach Training
These videos are for coaches who have already attended Lifestyle Coach Training and would like more training to effectively deliver the National DPP. The videos are supported by funding from the VA Department of Health & the VA Diabetes Council.
What is a Lifestyle Coach?
To become a provider of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention National Diabetes Prevention Program (National DPP) organizations must have lifestyle coaches who are trained to use a CDC-approved curriculum and who have the knowledge and skills to effectively deliver the yearlong program.
About Our Lifestyle Coach Training
VCDPE uses the CDC Prevent T2 curriculum for lifestyle coach training. To learn about the Prevent T2 curriculum, click here.
We offer both an In-person and an Online Training
The in-person training is a 2-day course that is interactive and engaging. The online training meets live for 2-hours on three days, as posted on the training schedule. Additionally, there are videos, homework assignments, and readings that must be completed each week. Both the in-person and online trainings provide 12 hours of training, which is a CDC requirement.
Additionally, if you are interested in hosting an on-site training at your location, contact us for details.
2019 training costs are $550.00 for in-person training and $500.00 for online training. Please see our Payment Information section regarding payment options.
