Dr. David Auble Retires June 30, 2024

A picture of Dr. David AubleDavid Auble has spent his entire independent career in BMG, having arrived in Charlottesville in 1996 following postdoctoral work at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and doctoral work at Case Western Reserve University. His research program has focused on understanding molecular mechanisms regulating transcription initiation, primarily using budding yeast as a model system. His lab has also had a longstanding interest in epigenetic regulation of gene expression associated with the emergence of human health problems resulting from chronic undernutrition in early infancy. He has been committed to the education, training, and support of students and trainees for his entire career, including efforts to create a more welcoming and inclusive environment.
