DEI Concerns, Experiences, Feedback & Reporting
At the University of Virginia Comprehensive Cancer Center, we are committed to fostering a community that is accessible, inclusive, diverse, and equitable. We work diligently to embed these practices into our policies, procedures, and daily practices.

When anonymous concerns, experiences or feedback are submitted, a response will be provided in this document.
There are multiple options for sharing or reporting concerns described below:
UVA Cancer Center faculty, trainees, and staff are encouraged to share experiences and provide feedback through this secure form. All entries are retrieved and reviewed by the Associate Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the UVA Cancer Center Office of Diversity Equity and Inclusion. Depending on the nature of the report, we will consult with the DEI Internal Advisory Board or Cancer Center leadership for input and recommendations regarding follow-up.
Examples of possible anonymous feedback include:
- Recommendations for DEI programming and/or initiatives
- Feedback on DEI activities or events
- Questions DEI Office or Committee organization or structure
- Concerns re: UVACCC Climate (e.g. Working environment, sense of belonging, etc.)

The Associate Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the UVA Cancer Center Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is available to discuss your feedback, experiences, or concerns. However, this meeting is neither anonymous nor confidential.

We recognize that DEI concerns can intersect with and impact mental health and emotional well-being. There is support available. Faculty and staff should consider the resources available.
If your concerns are related to the following, use the University’s online reporting system, Just Report It (JRI):
- Sexual and gender-based harassment and violence
- Bias and discrimination/harassment
- Hazing
- Clery Act compliance (by CSAs)
- Interference with speech rights
- Youth protection
- Preventing and addressing threats or acts of violence
Who is a Responsible Employee? UVA provides a definition in its Reporting Policy.
If you are a Responsible Employee, in no event should the victim be told that your conversation will be confidential.
As a University of Virginia employee, you have an obligation under the University’s Reporting Policy to report to the University’s Title IX Coordinator if you witness or receive a report of Prohibited Conduct under the University’s Sexual Misconduct Policy. It is your responsibility to familiarize yourself with the University’s Reporting Policy and the Sexual Misconduct Policy and your duties and responsibilities under those policies.
Pursuant to the Reporting Policy, a Responsible Employee is required to report to the University’s Title IX Coordinator all information (e.g., the names of the reporting party, the parties, any witnesses, and any other relevant information, including the date, time, and location of the alleged incident) disclosed to them about an incident of Prohibited Conduct.
