Community Outreach & Engagement

Community Outreach and Engagement is a long-standing part of the UVA Comprehensive Cancer Center, with almost two decades of commitment to the community and ensuring access to effective cancer control strategies to improve the lives of residents and cancer patients throughout our catchment area regardless of distance, insurance, or poverty status.

By supporting community-academic partnerships, we are able to increase the capacity of research in our communities that is responsive to the pressing health concerns of community members in our catchment area and disseminate culturally relevant cancer control education, screening and survivorship programs and services across Virginia and West Virginia.

UVA Cancer Center is celebrating its new comprehensive designation by awarding community grants of up to $10,000 to community-based organizations to continue innovative work that addresses cancer-related health disparities.

The Letter of Intent is due July 1.
