This material may be previewed or reviewed online anytime by the fellows. Angiographic review sessions will focus on the technical and interpretative aspects of coronary angiography, aortography and ventriculography. This session consists of a review with an attending of interesting angiograms demonstrating important aspects of coronary angiography and ventriculography.

Topics covered during the mentored tutorials include:

  • introduction to the catheterization laboratory
  • basic hemodynamics
  • angiography: views, catheters, special considerations
  • complications of catheterization
  • cardiac outputs and shunts
  • ventriculography
  • anomalous coronary arteries
  • aortography and aortic insuffuciency
  • aortic stenosis
  • hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
  • vascular access and closure

  • coronary collaterals
  • renal failure
  • pharmacology
