RESEARCH SUMMARY
Cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging is a powerful technology that has evolved into a comprehensive imaging approach to cardiovascular disease. A major focus of our work is on developing and improving clinical applications of cardiovascular MRI. Active clinical projects include a multicenter international registry improving risk prediction in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy using CMR, genetics, and biomarkers when added to standard clinical evaluation, developing a comprehensive MR exam for clinical trials in peripheral arterial disease, including atherosclerotic plaque imaging and calf muscle perfusion and energetics at peak exercise, and assessing quantitative myocardial perfusion in microvascular coronary artery disease.
