On Wednesday, October 25th the Center for Excellence in Education (CEE) kicked off programming for the 2023-2024 academic year with a celebratory event at the Colonnade Club.  The CEE’s mission is to promote the education mission within the SOM and represents a coordination between the Academy for Excellence in Education (AEE), Brodie Committee, and faculty engaged in medical education scholarship. The CEE is made possible through gracious support from the Office of Educational Affairs and Dr. Meg Keeley, Senior Associate Dean for Education.

Over 30 members of the AEE attended the kickoff celebration. New inductees from 2021 to present were honored in an induction ceremony and all members were introduced to the five committees which will carry out the day-to-day work of the Center.

Drs. Michael Ryan and Neeral Shah, Directors of the CEE and AEE respectively, gave remarks introducing the Center and its role in the School of Medicine. Drs. Ryan and Shah also emphasized the role of service in Academy membership.

The CEE would like to extend sincere gratitude to Mary Hart in the SOM Dean’s Office and the events team at the Colonnade Club for their support of the kickoff.
