Events and Programs
Overview
The Center supports the development and dissemination of educational scholarship through the following mechanisms:
- Professional development programming
- Mentoring/Coaching: In development
- Functional Mentoring for Educators that includes a matching process to meet the individual needs of those seeking mentoring
- Creation of a Community of Mentors in Education through professional development and peer mentoring
- Strategic Conversations–sessions for individuals seeking advice that will advance their efforts to apply a scholarly approach in their daily work with learners and to create the opportunity to disseminate scholarship describing this work
- Community Building—small group brainstorming sessions during which colleagues can present ideas to peer educators and identify potential collaborators
- Management of institutional funding mechanisms to support educators
- Educational Research Grant
- Fellowship for Scholarly Innovation in Medical/Biomedical Sciences Education
- Mentoring and professional development programming will be provided during the application process and throughout the funding cycle for Scholarly Innovation Fellowship and Educational Research Grants awardees.
- Oversight of GRIME
- Collaboration with the Academy for Excellence in Education
