Excellence in Clinical Trials: Practical Skills for Principal Investigators

During the months of April and May 2025 the CTU’s Clinical Research Education & Mentoring team and iTHRIV delivered an inaugural training program designed for new principal investigators.  The curriculum was developed around 4 main areas: teambuilding, clinical trial financial management, study documentation and best practices in study implementation. Over the course of 4 sessions, 18 current and aspiring PIs learned not just about the regulations governing clinical research, but how to apply the regulations, develop a cohesive vision for their project, and navigate the research process here at UVA.

Response to this initial program was overwhelmingly positive and plans are being made to offer the training again at some point in the near future.
