A new $1.2 million NIH grant will support Emma Mitchell, PhD, an associate professor of nursing, in expanding and strengthening cervical cancer screening, treatment, and follow-up using an app called “Azulado” that was developed for women in Bluefields, Nicaragua. Dr. Mitchell developed the app in partnership with Rebecca Dillingham, MD, MPH, a professor of medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases and International Health and director of UVA’s Center for Global Health Equity.
