UVA Department of Emergency Medicine proudly welcomed Moira Smith, MD, MPH, to our faculty in July. Although she officially joined the team this past Summer, Dr. Smith is a familiar face at UVA Health, having a long-standing history with the institution that dates back to her undergraduate years!
Dr. Smith’s journey at UVA includes a wide range of roles: she began as an undergraduate student, continued through medical school, served as a medical scribe in the Emergency Department, completed her residency, and fellowship in Clinical Informatics. Her extensive background with UVA Health has uniquely prepared her for this faculty role, allowing her to seamlessly integrate into the team. As part of her new position, Dr. Smith engages in clinical care in the Emergency Department, mentors residents, and contributes to the department’s expertise in Clinical Informatics.
UVA EM is thrilled to have Dr. Smith’s knowledge, dedication, and passion onboard, and anticipates the positive impact she will have on patients, students, and colleagues alike.
