Registration for the Fall 2025 session is open from September 19-September 30. Writing groups meet weekly for 8 weeks, October 13-December 19.
What is a writing accountability group?
A writing accountability group (WAG) is a small group of faculty writers who commit to working together for a set period of time. WAG members:
- meet weekly for an hour at a regular time to check in on their goals, work together, and set goals for the upcoming week.
- commit to tracking their goals and accomplishments.
- support one another to make writing a habit and make progress on their work.
Writers do not need to be in the same area of specialization to join a WAG. WAGs are about developing the habit of writing among supportive colleagues. In fact, most WAG participants are surprised to discover how much they have in common with writers across different types of academic medicine and science, and find it energizing to meet new people at UVA.
