The Division of Hepatology and Gastroenterology at UVA has a 35-year history of active research in all aspects of these fields. The successful development of our Clinical Research Program especially over the past 10 years and now led by Dr. Stephen Caldwell and Jennifer Greene RN/BSN CRC Manager has allowed the growth of a cutting edge clinical research program in all aspects of Liver disease including fatty liver and cirrhosis, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD, Crohn’s and Ulcerative colitis), Hepatobiliary Disease, Gut Motility disorders and other related fields including Celiac disease and Liver malignancies. Division Faculty also have notable collaborations with allied fields including Liver Transplantation, Allergy/Immunology, and Nutrition.
