Target Therapy
A patient with acute back/neck pain has activated neutrophils that migrate to the injury site due to a chemotaxis gradient. Upon systemic delivery of the cFLFLF-Fullerene conjugate through the peripheral vein, the activated neutrophils that express FPR will recognize the cFLFLF and bind to it, thereby delivering the anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory fullerene to the injury in an event and site-specific manner.
