The Medical Scientist Training Program has developed resources and programs to aid in the selection of a mentor. Further, current students are required to complete three 4-week lab rotations before declaring a mentor and lab. The first rotation is completed in the summer before starting the first year of medical school; the other two rotations are completed during the summer between the first and second years of medical school.
