We are absolutely thrilled to share the details for Jim Nataro’s “retirement” symposium, a special event set against the stunning backdrop of Charlottesville, Virginia, in Fall 2025! With the breathtaking Blue Ridge Mountains in peak autumn splendor, we’re pairing this unforgettable setting with a day dedicated to all things enteric pathogens.

The celebration will kick off with a lively social gathering on Sunday afternoon/evening, followed by a scientific symposium on Monday, where we will honor Jim Nataro’s remarkable career and contributions to the field.
We cannot wait to celebrate Jim’s extraordinary legacy with you. We sincerely hope you can join us for this special occasion!

The Social Event will be hosted on Sunday Oct 26th from 4:00-9:00PM.

Location: Kimpton, The Forum Hotel (540 Massie Rd Charlottesville, VA 22903). Event will be hosted in the The Grove Ballroom. Look for signs that say “Culture of Excellence: Celebrating Jim Nataro’s Scientific Legacy – Social Event” that will direct you to the ground floor event space. Bar will be setup just outside of the room and we’ll have access to the lovely grounds and patio space outside of the Ballroom.
Parking: Parking is available in the D10 and D2 lots, very close to the Forum, Kimpton Hotel (see red outlined lots and hotel).

Valet parking is also available. Please note that there may be long delays in car retrieval at the end of the night, pending parking volumes, as cars are parked off-site. Valet parking uses an app to track vehicles. For valet parking, the code “LEGACY” can be entered upon departure.
Dress: Dress comfortably and casually; there’s a rock band playing and dancing will be encouraged!
