UVA’s Arun Krishnaraj, MD, MPH serves as a chair on the RSNA-ACR Public Information Website Committee for RadiologyInfo.org, a comprehensive patient resource for radiology. After recognizing a lack of radiology information geared toward children, this committee worked to develop RadInfo 4 Kids, a section of the website where kids explain radiology exams to other kids. It was developed with the hope to reduce anxiety about radiology exams in both children and their parents by providing them with stories told by children who have already experienced the exams themselves. Dr. Krishnaraj notes the purpose of RadInfo 4 Kids saying “An important benefit of RadInfo 4 Kids is that by calming a child, radiologic exams can be done quickly and efficiently, which can have a marked impact on improving a child’s health.” To read more about how RadInfo 4 Kids is changing the radiology experience for children, click HERE.
