In Dr. Geraldine McGinty’s talk, “Reflections on Being a First,” she discussed her own experience as the first woman to chair the Board of the American College of Radiology in its almost 100-year history, as well as the importance of diverse healthcare leadership and how we must support and empower those who might not traditionally have been seen as eligible for leadership roles if they are to succeed.

About the Lecturer
In May 2018, Dr. Geraldine McGinty was elected as the Chair of the ACR’s Board of Chancellors, the first woman to hold this office. She in on the clinical faculty at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City, where she also serves as Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Contracting Officer for the Weill Cornell Physician Organization’s more than 1600 members. She is an internationally recognized expert in imaging economics and in 2015, she was voted ‘Radiology’s Most Effective Educator’ by the readers of Aunt Minnie, a radiology news site with more than 140,000 members. She has more than 14000 followers on Twitter.
