About the Lecturer

Dr. Geraldine McGinty, MD, MBA, FACR, is the senior associate dean for clinical affairs at Weill Cornell Medicine, as well as the chief strategy officer and chief contracting officer of the Weill Cornell Medicine Physician Organization and an associate professor of clinical radiology.

Dr. McGinty received her medical degree in 1988 from the National University of Ireland, Galway, and a master’s in business administration from Columbia University in 2000. She completed her radiology residency in 1993 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and a fellowship in women’s imaging at the Massachusetts General Hospital a year later. Dr. McGinty served on Albert Einstein College of Medicine’s faculty as an assistant professor of radiology from 1995-2002, and was in private practice from 2002-2013 serving as managing partner of a 70 physician multispecialty medical group on Long Island from 2010-2013, before joining Weill Cornell Medicine’s faculty in 2014. She was appointed chief strategy officer and chief contracting officer of the Weill Cornell Medicine Physician Organization in 2017. She was the founding academic director for Cornell’s Executive M.B.A./M.S. in Healthcare Leadership, which combines a Master of Science degree in healthcare leadership from the Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences and a Master of Business Administration from the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management.

In 2018, Dr. McGinty was elected chair of the American College of Radiology’s board—the first woman to hold the role in the college’s near 100-year history. A champion of mentorship and sponsorship, Dr. McGinty in 2016 founded and led the RADxx Initiative to cultivate mentorship and networking opportunities in radiology and imaging informatics.
