On August 29, former UVA Radiology resident and fellow Richard Rueb, MD and his colleague Josh W. McCain, MD joined current residents for a career-oriented talk about navigating jobs after training. They spoke about a wide variety of subjects, including the pros and cons of private practice vs. academic practice; different types and models of private practice; strategies for finding a job; contract negotiation; and teleradiology.
This talk was part of the Alumni Lecture Series, which is sponsored by the Keats Society.

About the Speakers:
Richard Rueb, MD is originally from Fairfax County, VA. He completed his undergraduate degree, medical school, residency, and IR fellowship all at the University of Virginia. As part of his training he completed UVA Department of Radiology’s IR Clinical Pathway, which was the precursor to the IR-Integrated Residency. He currently practices with Lexington Radiology Associates.
Josh W. McCain, MD is originally from northern Georgia. He completed his undergraduate degree at Shorter University in Rome, GA; from there he went to medical school at Mercer University in Macon, GA, and did residency and MSK fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina.
