Tess Reynolds, PhD

Tess Reynolds, PhD is the Deputy Director of the Image X Institute and a Robinson Fellow at the University of Sydney. As a biomedical imaging physicist and winner of the 2022 Outstanding Early Career Researcher Australian Museum Eureka Prize (Australia’s top scientist under 35), Dr. Reynolds has developed novel technologies and pioneered new frontiers of medical imaging. Currently, they lead an academic-industry-healthcare partnership with Siemens Healthcare (Germany), the University of Sydney, Johns Hopkins University (USA), the University of Pennsylvania (USA), and Westmead Hospital (Sydney), focusing on delivering the future of interventional imaging in challenging surgical scenarios. In 2021, they received the Jack Fowler Early-Career Investigator Award from the American Association of Physicists in Medicine for new spine imaging protocols; Dr. Reynolds was also awarded a Cancer Institute of NSW Early Career Fellowship to continue work on improving interventional imaging as a pathway towards increasing cancer patient access to procedures that reduce pain and improve quality of life.
