We are pleased to share that the Blue Ridge Institute of Medical Research released its rankings for FY24. The Blue Ridge rankings are based on U.S. National Institutes of Health funding awarded to institutions, departments, and investigators over the federal fiscal year. The Department of Surgery’s ranking increased from 32 ($5.95M) to 17 ($9.8M). While this is just one of many metrics, the Blue Ridge ranking is nationally recognized and illustrates the strength of our research program as compared to other surgery departments across the country.
