About

Investigators in the UVA Focused Ultrasound Cancer Immunotherapy Center have access to extensive infrastructure for immune cell profiling and characterization.

Biorepository and Tissue Research Facility The BTRF is the major core facility at UVA involved in the procurement and processing of human tissue and other biospecimens for basic, translational, and clinical research. Additionally our facility provides laboratory support services for clinical trials. The facility also provides tissue samples from remnant surgical resection and autopsy specimens linked to clinicopathologic data while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Flow Cytometry Core Facility.  The Flow Cytometry Core Facility housed in Pinn Hall (Room 2011 and 2013) provides all UVA investigators access to high quality, cost effective flow cytometry services.  Services include unassisted and assisted sample acquisition, cell sorting, mass cytometry (CyTOF), Luminex cytokine assays, antibody conjugation and data analysis.  By providing these services, as well as the scientific expertise necessary to effectively use this technology, the facility serves to enhance the scope and quality of scientific research performed at UVA.

Genome Analysis and Technology Core. The Genome Analysis and Technology Core’s mission is to serve as a scientific educational resource and biotechnology hub enhancing the scope and quality of basic and translational research at UVa.    The goal of the core staff is to enable Next Generation Sequencing projects for novice and experienced users,  by providing education, and timely assistance in all facets of experimentation from project design and execution to data analysis and reporting.  The core  champions  Scientific Rigor and Reproducibility at all stages of a project life cycle.
