Community Engagement

The UVA Department of Anesthesiology is committed to making a meaningful impact beyond the hospital by engaging with and giving back to the communities we serve. Our outreach efforts span a variety of initiatives, from safe medication disposal programs to health education for local students and participation in community events. Our Office of Pain Management and Opioid Stewardship (OPMOS) plays a crucial role in opioid education, providing resources and training to healthcare providers, students, and families in Charlottesville. Whether through education, outreach, or advocacy, UVA Anesthesiology remains dedicated to improving public health and strengthening our community.
